The Palpung Retreats

To help one escape from the hurley-burley illusions of everyday life, and to find some space for some serious reality hunting, Palpung Changchub Dargyeling leads occasional retreats.

They are held at the centre and participants may stay and eat at the centre for the duration of the retreat or find accommodation in the town - (the centre is limited in the numbers it can host, so book in early for any retreats you wish to attend).

The retreat may take the form of guided meditations, a series of teachings upon a set subject, or an exploration of a practice, during which Lama Rabsang will provide all of the teaching, training, and permissions  required to become adept.

The upcoming retreats are below and will be updated:-

Kunchog Chindu Retreat

Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche (Kunchog Chindu) Retreat

7pm Saturday 12th June to

9am Sunday 20th June

In June Lama Rabsang will lead a retreat of intensive Guru Rinpoche practice, when he will offer the empowerment, reading transmission & practice instructions; leading the group on a series of Guru Rinpoche prayer sessions throughout the retreat. It is a ideal time to form a connection with the Indian guru who bought Buddhism to Tibet and Bhutan in the 8th century.

He has many names in both Tibetan and Sanskrit, including the Lotus Born, (Pema Jungne/Padmasambhava) and Precious Master (Guru Rinpoche). The centre has copies of the texts you will need. Space is very limited and you may be asked to share a room if the demand is too great. (Alternative accommodation may also be found in town.)

Suggested donation £200 (for full board)

(Personal Offering to Lama Rabsang optional)

Karma Pakshi/Nature of Mind Retreat

Karma Pahshi

Karma Pakshi/Nature of Mind Retreat

7pm Saturday 23th October to

9am Sunday 31st October

The Karma Pakshi/Nature of Mind retreat will be led by Lama Rabsang for students of the Mahamudra Course and for those who have received Pointing-Out Instructions. Lama Rabsang will lead the group in a week of meditation sessions interspaced with talks about the nature of mind and the Guru Yoga to the second Karmapa, Karma Pakshi, 1203-1283, the teacher of Kublai Khan and referred to by Marco Polo in his travel journals. (we will be using the practice text that was revealed to the first Mingyur Rinpoche in a vision).

The retreat will come a few weeks after Mingyur Rinpoche's visit to the centre, so it will be an excellent way to refresh what Rinpoche taught and to explore what he taught.
